BLUE BIRD

The first Blue Bird school bus was built in 1927, revolutionizing the school transportation industry with its steel construction. In 1935, Blue Bird Body Company opened their first manufacturing plant, in Fort Valley, Georgia. The Micro Bird model was introduced in 1975, and the Mini Bird followed in 1977. The first Blue Bird Vision models, using a dedicated type C body and chassis, rolled out in 2003. In 2008 the type D All American models were introduced, featuring many user-suggested upgrades and redesigns. The propane-powered Vision was launched in 2010.

MICRO BIRD – T-SERIES

The T-Series is maintenance-friendly with easily accessible engine, wiring, and electrical compartments. Time saved on maintenance tasks means lower costs for school districts. Choose from either a fuel-efficient 3.5L gasoline, or a 3.5L EcoBoost. Using one of these readily available fuels and standard gasoline format makes it easy to refill and to find qualifies mechanics. In addition, the T-Series aerodynamic design ensures greater fuel economy.

MICRO BIRD – MFSAB

A Multi-Function School Activity Bus is defined as a school bus whose purposes do not include transporting students to and from home or with school bus stops. A MFSAB meets all FMVSS applicable to school buses except those requiring the installation of the traffic control devices (flashing lights and stop arms). It will provide a versatile, helpful, and safe transportation in a variety of other settings. Its construction uses mechanical fasteners and one-piece hat shaped roof bows. Better aerodynamics and commanding view of the road will make driving this vehicle a pleasure. Its more-view window offers the best-in-class visibility of the passenger loading area. MFSAB buses are often smaller than traditional school buses, so the driver enjoys increased maneuverability and students enjoy increased comfort and safety. This offering is available in the G5, MB-II, and T-Series and seating up to 25 passengers.

MICRO BIRD – MPV

Micro Bird’s Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs), also known as daycare buses are designed with little passenger’s safety in mind. These Non-CDL buses are reliable, maneuverable, and comfortable. The MPV buses are also easy to maintain and provide the lowest total cost of ownership through years of tough use. This offering is available in the T-Series MPV and Transit SRW with a seating capacity of up to 25 passengers.
